Mother

Mother, my mother

She taught me, oh a lot to remember

To hate hatred, to love; love members

To forsake evil and envy, strife and sedition

Consent not to cheating and covetousness

Mother, my mother

She taught me, taught us a lot

Cleave to Christ's cross and command

Love life, live for God

Respect humanity and mankind

My mother, my grandmother

They taught a lot, both, gems

To flow in uprightness and good

Flee from dogs with flattering barks

Good in integrity and honesty

My mother, my grandmother

Both mirrors to behold

They taught, stand! Stand firm

Conform not to the deformed world

And I long to be the mother they were.
